Ninthfloor.org is a not-for-profit project that provides shell accounts, email addresses and web hosting on a stable, secure, full-featured and well maintained GNU/Linux system. It offers a large set of general purpose programs and services. The project's mission is to provide an Internet accessible computing facility available to everybody for personal use, learning and experimenting.
The project is run following the values and philosophy of the hacker ethic that are standard in the hacker community. Its general principles are often summarized as: free access to computers; always yield to the hands-on imperative; freedom of information; decentralization; mistrust of bogus judgement criteria, such as degrees, age, race or position; world improvement.
We actively support Free Software and avoid proprietary programs, thus you will not find any here.
System administration and maintenance is made on a volunteer basis (i.e. for free), but the infrastructure has its costs. It is only with your donations that the project can stay alive.
Ninthfloor.org relies only on its users' support.
